In a stark contrast to their game the previous weekend, The Olympic Club took on Life West on a sunny day on Treasure Island. With little wind, clear skies and a dry field, the conditions were primed for some running rugby and Life West did not disappoint. In the end, although each team was able to score it was Life West that would prevail 46-23.
Life West got on the board early with tries by Pila Iongi and Anthony Munoz. Keegan Engelbrecht would add two penalties for a 12-6 score. Jake Anderson would bring things close for the Olympic Club at the 25 minute mark by returning a kick for a try and a 12-11 score.
Life West would use the last 10 minutes of the first 10 minutes of the second half to put away the game score 4 unconverted tries and making the score 32-11. It was a close game from then on with both team scoring two tries to bring the final to 46-23.
As we hit the the midway point of the California Cup these two teams sit at opposite ends of the table with Life West as the only 3-0 team and Olympic Club even with with Old Aztecs at 0-3
